Planning and Planning Education in the Western Cape, South Africa
Abstract
This paper presents an assessment of the experience of planning education programmes at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in relation to the urban and regional context, and of how they respond to the emerging development challenges. The paper assesses the changing tertiary education landscape and the existing and potential complementarities that exist and/or may be forged in planning programmes offered in three of the tertiary institutions in the Cape Town region with the view to identify opportunities for reshaping our planning programmes for the twenty-first century.
